As we all know that the in the world of technology, importance and application of solar energy is increasing day by day and it is the most talked and essential concept among the researchers nowadays. It is the important mean of expanding renewable energy resources. The engineers who are in this field are very well aware about the technologies associated with this area.
According to the researchers, the solar energy is both clean as well as free of cost. So if they could maximize the use of solar energy, then it will be very helpful in order to take the load off from the fossil fuel such as petrol, diesel etc as well as they could also limit the emission of carbon dioxide which will be very helpful in preventing the pollution.
This project of researchers will include the design along with construction of an Arduino-based solar panel tracking system in order to control the auto intensity of the street lights systems. Through the solar energy, the researchers would be able to produce more energy as the solar array is able to remain aligned to the sun and that’s why it will provide the maximum output power for using in lightning eh street lights at nights.
This project has been designed by the researchers in order to detect the vehicle movements on highways to switch ON only a block of street lights ahead of it as well as to switch OFF the trailing lights in order to save the energy. As we know that at the time of night, all the lights on the highways remain ON for the vehicles which causes wastage of lots of energy even when there is no vehicle.
This proposed system of the researchers is able to provide a solution for the energy saving. This can be achieved by sensing the approaching vehicle and then switching ON a block of street lights ahead of the vehicle. As soon as the vehicle passes by, the trailing lights will switch OFF automatically. Thus, we would be able to save a lot of energy. Now if there are no vehicles on the highway, all the lights will remain switch OFF.
There are mainly two types of sun tracker which are single axis and dual axis. The single axis tracker can move back and forth in east west direction due to axial tilt of the earth, the inclination of the trajectory of sun in the sky can vary over the course of the year. While on the other hand, the dual axis tracker can track the sun in continuous manner as it can move in two different west directions.
