DTS-Si Technology

DTS-Si Technology
DTS-Si Technology

DTS-SI technology stands for the Digital Twin spark – Swirl Ignition which is similar to the DTS-I technology but the only difference between these two is the cylinders which have groove causes turbulence of the air fuel mixture by entering the cylinder which is making it swirl so that better combustion could take place giving better efficiency and power.

An experiment has been conducted by the researchers of rotating flow in the premixed spark engines along with its effects on the turbulence generation and flame propagation. This rotating flow is capable to increase sufficient turbulence intensity at the time of combustion period.

This process can lead to the reduced burning period along with increased thermal efficiency. The rotating flow is very essential for the purpose of combustion of lean mixtures in combination with squish or with alternative fuels of low laminar flame speed. In general terms, this rotating flow can sufficiently increase the flame propagation speed as well as reduce cyclic variations.

In addition to this, it can also expand the lean limit through the excessive rotational motion which can have adverse effects on induction system flow resistance and on heat transfer and thermal efficiency. Multiple research works have been conducted by the researchers towards swirl.

Today these researches have been shifted to the tumble as these two have distinctive features and can interact differently through the piston motion and squish. The field of optimum rotating flow can be a combination of the two kinds of rotational motion.

The key features of the mean velocity and turbulence fields are associated with the rotational motions which are viewed and also the mechanisms for generation, transport and enhancement of in-cylinder turbulence. Apart from making the engine fuel efficient, this technology considers the power of the bike.

This efficient technology of the researchers is resulting in the smoother operations as well as adjusting the engine for varying temperatures fluctuations and making the motorbike resistant. In addition to this, the bikes with this technology are supposed to live longer and also run smoother with high fuel efficiency.

DTS-SI is an upgraded version of the present DTSI technologies as well as under this technology; the digital twin spark plugs are located at the same place like in DTSI technology engines but in inclined manner. This further contributes the process of combustion and makes the ignition of fuel and air faster which results in enhanced power and expanded fuel efficiency.
