Basics of 3D Printing

A 3D printer is basically a manufacturing tool which is being used in order to create three dimensional arti-facts that can be designed on the computer. There is a wide range of shapes, sizes and types of these 3D printers. In simple words, they all are computer controlled additive manufacturing machines.

3D Printing: This is an additive manufacturing process like 3D printing which works by fusing together layers of powered material for building an object as it is contrary to the traditional subtractive manufacturing processes which rely on methods of cutting and drilling for carving out objects.

Through 3D Printer under the computer control, this process can be carried out with the unmatched precision and superior accuracy. Here are some of the components and raw materials which give you an idea on working of 3D printing.

Elevator: It is a part of 3D printer which increases or decreases the platforms in order to lay the layers of the particular object which is being manufactured. One thing should be kept in mind that 3D printers create an object layer by layer.

VAT: VAT should also be kept in mind as being a reservoir for the raw material.

Materials: The advanced 3D printers are capable of using one or more types of raw materials in order to create objects.

Applications of 3D Printing: There is a rapid growth and improvements in the 3D printing technology through which many industries are gaining various benefits. Here are some of the industries which are suing 3D printing technology for several purposes:

Aerospace: For the purpose of manufacturing difficult but lightweight parts of the aircrafts and space applications, this technology is being used in the aerospace.

Architecture: These technologies is being utilized by the architecture for structure verification, design review, reverse structure engineering as well as scaled modeling etc.

Automotive: This industry uses 3D printing technology in order to perform various design verification and development of new engines.

Defense: In this sector, this technology is being used in order to make light weight parts of surveillance equipments.

Education: There is an amazing method for geometry visualizations and design initiatives at art schools through the 3D Printing.

Entertainment: This technology is being used for entertainment purpose also like prototypes of toys, action figures, games as well as musical equipment and other things.
